Performance Ensembles
Our Ensemble program is designed for dancers ages 6 and up who want to make dancing and performing a priority. The students have weekly technique classes and rehearsals in which they learn challenging and varied choreography, performance skills, stage etiquette, expression, and performance procedures, all while developing relationships and forming a community with their peers.
We strive to conduct this program like a professional company, with required technique classes and rehearsals, diverse and artistic choreography, and touring and performing throughout the St. Louis area. The program and process instills commitment, a sense of responsibility, and teamwork that prepares students for life!
Enrollment for our performance ensembles opens every spring for the following school year and we typically host an informational parent meeting over the summer. Dancers are placed in groups according to age, skill level, and style interest (modern/contemporary, ballet, or musical theater genre.)

Our ensembles have been invited to perform at National Dance Week STL, St. Louis Dance Festival Showcase, Loop in Motion, Wings in the City, Webster Groves Farmers Market, Dancing in the Streets, FunFest 63119, and with MADCO at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
AiM Ensemble students have been cast in productions by Joffrey Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Missouri Ballet Theatre, Resilience Dance Company, and Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company. Additionally, some have pursued dance degrees or participated in intensive dance study with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, SUNY Purchase, Nashville Ballet, Leverage Dance Theatre, Texas Christian University, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Webster University, Duke University, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and Johns Hopkins University, to name a few.
Ensemble Banquet
Each year, we host an end-of-year banquet to celebrate the commitment of our Ensemble families and honor our dancers' achievements. During the event, we also recognize our graduating Seniors and those students who have shown leadership and exemplify the core values of Arts in Motion. It’s a memorable event for our students and faculty alike!
